Venjakob coating technology

Why coating technology is so crucial

Time and again, customers ask us about products for a potential coating line. We usually answer that we offer products, too, but that we generally develop processes. That is to say: At Venjakob, we don't have a production line that creates a specific number of coating systems each year. We design customized systems for customers and their specific requirements. Each of these systems is based on the experience gained throughout the past sixty years – and therefore on our knowledge of the best coating technology for each task.

The different functions of a coating

Coatings play an important role in protecting products mechanically against friction or wear. Sometimes they serve as a barrier, for example to ensure corrosion resistance or thermal insulation. Other coating technologies are used to improve electrical conductivity, or else for the opposite: for electrical insulation. Then there are surfaces and materials on which the coating has an optical function – be it for reflection, absorption or simply for decoration. And finally, certain coatings are all about the interaction between contact surfaces. Issues such as paintability, wettability or biocompatibility play a role in those cases. Depending on the industry, company and products, the focus is sometimes on one set of requirements for the application process and sometimes on another. This makes it all the more important for us at Venjakob to focus on systems and processes, not on products. The key to your solution is always comprehensive information about the materials, the surface and the end use the products will be put to.

Processes for practically any requirements

Spraying, finishing, dip coating, flow coating or roller coating – these are some of the processes that we at Venjakob implement in our systems. In fact, Venjakob has the expertise to develop the optimum process for almost any liquid coating material, workpiece material and workpiece format. The requirements for the process may vary by application, but what always remains essential is the technical feasibility. When it comes to technology and feasibility, Venjakob stands out from the crowd thanks to decades of process experience. This know-how, acquired in countless projects and successfully applied in numerous industries, has made us one of the world's leading suppliers of custom-designed coating and finishing systems. That includes systems for coating plastics, metals, wood or glass. And complete systems covering all processing steps – from pretreatment through coating to drying and packaging of the products.

The key to success: Trust

Coating technology – that's our conclusion – is a complex subject. Depending on the category and area of application, the technology may be extremely sophisticated. This makes it all the more important to fully understand the matter. And it is just as important that everyone involved gets on well with each other. After all, trust is a success factor: establishing a partnership of equals and knowing what’s important. Because ultimately everything comes down to one thing: the quality of your products. At Venjakob, we provide everything that excellent coating technology and comprehensive process experience can contribute – for both large and small systems. The countless projects we have implemented throughout the past years are the proof. But more importantly, we like to go into detail. We are happy to provide more proof. That is why we have set up technical centers at our headquarters in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and at our subsidiary Nutro in the USA. Everything that leaves our company is first tested at our technical center. Perhaps that will soon include your solution.
