Roll coating for precise surfaces
Roll coating is a contact coating process for flat and slightly structured workpieces. At Venjakob, we develop systems that enable high transfer rates, defined layer thicknesses and reproducible results. The technology is suitable for furniture parts, doors, parquet, plastic flooring, panel materials and industrial substrates made of plastic, metal and glass. Our systems can be flexibly adapted to materials, layer structures and production speeds.
VEN Coat ROLLER roller coating systems
Coatings with high repeat accuracy
Our VEN COAT RO LLER roller coating systems apply transparent or pigmented UV or water-based coating materials with high repeat accuracy. Stable roller geometries and defined feed speeds ensure uniform coating formation.
The modular lines can be adapted to quantities, material combinations and degrees of automation and cover the requirements of many sectors in wood, door, floor and industrial applications.
To the roll coatersThe roll coating offers almost complete material transfer and creates stable, even layer patterns. Direct metering via roller pair and gap size enables precise settings for high reproducibility. At the same time, the process reduces energy, material and cleaning costs and increases cost-effectiveness in continuous operation.
How roll coating works
In roll coating, the coating medium is transferred precisely from a dosing roller to the application roller and then applied evenly to the workpiece. Roller hardness, gap size and speed determine the coating level. The synchronous operation ensures reliable results even at high feed speeds. The process is suitable for UV-curing, water-based and pigmented systems.
Dosing roller
Controlled material transfer to the application roller.
Application roller
Homogeneous distribution for even surfaces.
Layer thickness control
Fine adjustment via gap size and roller parameters.
Process stability
Synchronized operation for reproducible results.
Media compatibility
Suitable for UV, water-based and pigmented systems.
Process steps and automation in roll coating
Industrial roller coating comprises pre-treatment, the actual coating application, suitable drying and transfer to subsequent steps. We combine these stations into an end-to-end process chain, supported by automated material handling systems and digital recipe management. This enables reproducible processes, stable material flows and short changeover times in multi-variant productions.
Material diversity and applications in roll coating
Roll coating is suitable for decorative and functional coatings on numerous substrates. Furniture parts, doors, parquet, plastic flooring, panel materials and industrial components can be precisely rolled and flexibly matched to visual or technical requirements.
- Wood, MDF, veneer and solid wood
- Doors and construction elements
- Parquet, veneer flooring, plastic flooring
- Panel materials
- Plastic and composite components
- Glass and metal surfaces
Combination of roll coating and spray application
For components with profiles, edges or complex geometries, roll coating can be ideally supplemented by spray application. Surfaces are rolled efficiently, while inaccessible areas are spray-coated in a targeted manner. This combination is particularly suitable for doors, structured furniture parts and technical components.
What is roll coating?
Roll coating is a contact coating process in which the paint system is applied evenly to the workpiece via rollers.
What are the advantages of roller coating?
It enables high transfer rates, defined layer thicknesses, low operating costs and stable results.
For which materials is roll coating suitable?
Wood, parquet, doors, LVT, panel materials and suitable plastic, metal and glass surfaces.
How is the layer thickness controlled?
Via gap size, roller hardness, speeds and feed rate.
How energy-efficient is the rolling process?
High material transfer, short drying times and uv curing in industrial coating make it one of the most efficient application methods.
